Haider Flayyih
"AL-Zuwaini"
I plan and deliver network and automation programs at regional scale. Five years of ISP capacity planning across 220 hubs, an 8-month terminal automation program at the Port of Los Angeles, and a $15M portfolio delivered under budget. Deep technical roots, and a record of moving work across teams I don't manage.
Measured work
Capacity planning is a numbers discipline, so here are the numbers. Every figure below is from a program I planned, sequenced, or delivered.
- 220 Hubs standardized onto a single CMTS platform Charter, Northwest & Mountain States, 2019–2022. Owned fleet analysis, node-to-chassis load modeling, OFDM/OFDMA licensing, and hub sequencing — smallest hubs first, to contain blast radius.
- ~5,000 Node splits executed over five years Roughly 1% needed rollback, every one caught inside the maintenance window with no customer impact. Pre-assigned IP space, briefed deployment ahead of each MOP, validated against live utilization before and after.
- ~120 Straddle carriers converted to autonomous operation APM Terminals Pier 400 modernization — manual machines to robots running on terminal-wide wireless, inside a live 24/7 marine terminal under federal MTSA access control.
- $15M Annual IT and automation portfolio, 4.5% under cost Three vendor firms and two project coordinators working day to day, tracked against cost, SLA, and delivery metrics with vendor-specific KPIs and corrective action.
- 20+ Managers, senior engineers and architects tracked weekly Cross-departmental IT initiative status, assigned by the department VP and briefed back to him biweekly. None of them reported to me.
